The Wendekreisen Koru Star 2 Freedom (LDV) delivers automatic transmission to the freedom range. Designed for 2 people, this campervan combines exceptional off-grid capabilities with 2022 vehicle manufacturing.
The rear living area is packed with features common in the Wendekreisen Freedom range. These include an on-board touch screen system and reversing camera and Avtex smart TV with soundbar for crisp sound. A custom designed pull-out pantry can store large shops of groceries. Other features include ambient LED night lighting and ample storage. The rear of the lounge suite also includes a large drawer, big enough to accommodate medium sized suitcases or a variety of soft travel bags.
A good mattress is essential when resting on holidays. Our vehicles are equipped with top quality medium density Dunlop foam mattresses. These carry an anti-mould guarantee and provide for a very comfortable sleep.
Whilst maintaining all the existing features, we have installed a powerful 340-watt MPPT controlled solar system and combined this with 2.88 kilowatt hours of fast-charging battery storage. This combination keeps you powered without campsites. Although all of our campervans can connect to power and charge, this is rarely needed.
A 2.2KW variable speed diesel heating system is connected to the vehicle fuel tank. The heaters 'set and forget system' brings quiet and efficient warmth to wherever you stay. The heater fuel consumption is about 300ml per hour.
The hot water is powered by a heat exchanger, connected to the vehicle cooling system. There is no need for gas or any other fuel to heat water. Once the engine reaches operating temperature, the in-house water will be hot for a period of up to 24 hours.
The combination of solar, good energy storage and efficient heating means that there is very little need to refuel gas bottles or to charge batteries on paid campgrounds.
If you are planning to freedom camp New Zealand with a compact 2 berth campervan, then this is the vehicle for you.
This vehicle is certified self contained in accordance with New Zealand Standard 5465:2001.
